Bruno Walpoth

The illusion of life that Italian sculptor, Bruno Walpoth, is able to achieve in his work is simply amazing. This achievement is amplified given the fact that he prefers to highlight the textural imperfections, cracks, and grains in the wood that he uses. Bruno comes from a long line of woodcarvers, and it shows. His ability to manipulate the medium in order to capture the subtle poses and facial expressions that make an inanimate object appear alive is remarkable.
