COLOR & SPACE #2: Installations out of miles of colored thread
Today we’re bringing you a compilation of Gabriel Dawe’s incredibly beautiful site-specific installations composed of miles and miles of colored thread. According to the artist, the work explores the connection between fashion and architecture, and how they relate to the human need for shelter in all its shapes and forms. Gabriel has installed these pieces all over the world and I was recently lucky enough to see one in person at CAM in Raleigh, NC. I’m including a time-lapse video that was done on the CAM installation so you can get a feel for how he constructs his pieces.
