Eva Hild’s flowing sculptures

Swedish-based sculptor, Eva Hild is the one behind these beautiful ceramic pieces that flow, bend, and fold in on themselves. The end result is these delicate organic shapes that use light, shadow, and negative space masterfully. In a statement by Eva: “My fascination is about the relationship between internal and external realities; the dualism between inside and outside, content and form, feeling and shape, impression and expression. It is a reflection of my inner landscapes of form. Everyday, I experience the tension between presence and absence. My sculptures show me the necessity of opposites; they are paradoxes. Bodies where presence and absence meet.”

Eva currently has a show at Nancy Margolis Gallery that just opened and is running through January 3, 2015. Stop by the gallery if you get a chance.
