Beautiful waves of ceramic beads

These large, flowing pieces are by British artist Fenella Elms. The work is comprised of what appears to be thousands of porcelain clay beads that are individually attached to a large sheet of porcelain before firing it whole, turning it into a single solid piece. According to the artist, she does not preplan each piece, rather she allows the materials to guide the process, resulting in work that appears very natural and organic. I can only image the time and laborious effort that goes into making each piece. Well worth it!
